New Framelits Dies!

I am so loving the new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog that just came out this month! Have you seen and tried the new Framelits Dies! They're to die for!! Wink, wink! The innovative, thin, wafer-like design of these dies lets you see where you're placing the design before you cut!

I made this card using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, the coordinating Apothecary Art stamp set, and the new Attic Boutique designer series paper! I loved how easy it was to die cut my stamped image!

There is also a new Hearts Collection (both on page 6 of the mini catalog), that I can't wait to try out. Both collections come with six dies in a sturdy envelope for easy storage!

Creative Elements!

Happy Friday! This week over on my Sisters in Stamping blog we're showcasing sets from the Elements section of the catalog. I chose the Creative Elements set found on page 137 and tried to do something in a vintage style as that is so popular these days!

I also love pink and brown, as you can probably tell by my blog design. I also used the new Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and the Designer Frames Embossing Folder (I love embossing folders!!).

I love the self adhesive pearl backs and added a little glitter as I love bling too!

Creating Pretty Cards – Challenge #2!

In case you haven't heard yet, in addition to the great 3D projects that Craft Project Central has for you each month, we'll will be now be hosting a monthly card challenge – Creating Pretty Cards!! Each month we will post a card challenge sketch, and in addition, we'll provide you with a Sketch Mini Tutorial!! This mini tutorial will tell you how the inspiration card (using the sketch) was created, supplies used, and basic measurements!!

Each week we'll pick our top two favorites. At the end of the month we'll randomly pick a winner from the eight and the winner will receive a $50 Stampin' Up! shopping spree!!

Here is the card that I created with the sketch for challenge #2!

It was so simple and easy and I love the way the layout and measurements were provided for me!!

I can never get enough flower sets, so whenever a new Idea Book & Catalog or Mini Catalog come out, I immediately gravitate towards the flower sets. This new catalog is no exception and when I saw the Field Flowers set on page 120, I knew I just had to have it! I also used the new Calypso Coral In Color card stock and ruffled ribbon, and the First Edition Designer Series Paper to give it a vintage look.

I recently made a card very similar to this one in Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi and with an Easter greeting. I liked the layout so I decided to change up the colors and the greeting. Since everyone keeps asking me for sympathy cards, I used the With Love & Caring stamp.

Faux Linen/Brayer Card!

This month over at my Sisters in Stamping blog we're focusing on techniques. Every Friday we are showcasing a different technique and this Friday it's techniques that use a brayer. I rarely use my brayer, not because I don't like using it, I just forget! I decided to do a faux linen technique. With this technique, you use glossy card stock, stamp, sand (I used the sanding block from our Distressing Essentials kit), and then brayer.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but once all of that is done, the paper looks like linen. It's very pretty in real life, and I also added some Basic Pearls to the greeting.
