Sorry, I meant to post this card last night, but if you live in Mililani, you know we had a power outage! I was working on my computer when boom, I was totally in the dark!! I bought a battery powered lantern a couple weeks ago and stumbled out to the garage to find it. Two stubbed toes later, I found it and low and behold it takes 8 D batteries!! Since I only had two on hand, I resorted to candles until the power came back on a couple hours later! Oh how I take electricity for granted!!
Over on my Sisters in Stamping blog this week, we're showcasing the Paper-Piercing Packs! There's one in the big catalog and one in the Holiday Mini catalog! I love these new Paper-Piercing Packs and how they match stamp sets, punches, dies, Edgelits, and Framelits! Makes your paper-piercing soooo easy!!
For this card I used the Layered Labels stamp set, which has a coordinating Apothecary Accents Framelits set, and the coordinating Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack! I also used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
After piercing, I added two Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the ends of the sentiment. I was hoping for a masculine look, so I guess I could have left the rhinestones off, but they were calling to be used on the card and I couldn't resist!
I used the September Creating Pretty Cards sketch over at Craft Project Central, which made it even easier to create this card! Check out the sketch which comes with a free mini sketch tutorial each month and a chance to win a free subscription!
Thanks as always for stopping by! I hope you have a fun weekend and get some stamping time in!
TGIF!! Although I had a great week this week, I'm glad that it's Friday! I had two Stamp-A-Stack classes this week, which I always look forward to as I get to see and stamp with many of my stamping friends! Here is one of the five card designs that we made this week.
We used the Friendly Phrases stamp set and the rest of the card is done using Big Shot dies, punches and Floral District designer series paper!
I designed this card with the Creating Pretty Cards Sketch Challenge #15 in mind. Head over to Craft Project Central for the details on this sketch challenge, a mini sketch tutorial, and to see other cards posted for this challenge!
Hope you have a great stamping weekend!!
This spectacular set of projects would be a perfect and uplifting gift for a special friend! The covered notepad and pen set is not only a cheerful gift, but a useful one as well! The slider gift box can be filled with a special treat and the matching card completes the set!
Day 8 of the new catalog! Hopefully you've received your new catalog by now and are enjoying all of the great new stamps sets and accessories! My first order arrived yesterday and I have been busy, busy, playing with all of my new goodies!
Here is a card that I made with a new set called You're Amazing. I love it when stamp sets have coordinating punches and Big Shot dies. For this set, the You're Amazing image coordinates with the Apothecary Accents Framelits dies. So I was able to cut out my image using a die. I also cut a second layer out of solid card stock to use as a background layer for the image.
We have five new In Colors too with the new catalog and I used two of them; Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I used the new In Color Stampin' Write Markers to color in the image, giving me the two colors on the single stamped image.
Finally I added a couple Rhinestone Jewels and some Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon! If you'd like to see some other creations made with new items from the catalog, check out my Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my talented stamping sisters created!
If you haven't received a new catalog yet and would like one, email me for costs and shipping details!
Thanks as always for stopping by! Have a fun stamping weekend!
Also known in the Stampin' Up! world as Designer Series Paper (DSP)! I love Stampin' Up!'s DSP!! I love using it on my cards and in 3D projects! I wish I could say that I love using it in my scrapbooking too, but alas, I haven't done any scrapbooking in so long! But if I did, I would definitely use DSP in my scrapbooking!!
We made this card in my Stamp-A-Stack classes this week. Although the new Paper Doily die was a little work getting all the little pieces popped out, everyone loved this card, and I especially like the way the little birds on the DSP match the birds in the stamped image.
I used Everyday Enchantment DSP, which is available for free with a qualifying order as part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion that is going on until the end of this month! I hope that you've earned a free pack of this paper as the designs and colors in this pack are absolutely gorgeous!!! The stamp set that I used is called Up in the Air and is a Hostess set from the Occasion Mini Catalog!
To see some other fabulous projects using DSP, head over to my Sister's in Stamping blog to see what my talented stamping sisters created.
Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have any questions on Sale-A-Bration and how you can get some free stampin' goodies, just let me know! Have a delightfully superb weekend!!
This is a great congratulations saying! I recently sent this card to my brother in San Francisco who recently got accepted to the San Francisco Firefighters Academy! He has been working as a reserve firefighter for years and I respect his perseverance and not giving up his dream! Academy starts May 2nd, so I'll keep you posted on his progress!
I love this saying for any type of congratulations. Job promotion, graduation, new job, etc.!
