Texturz Plates!

I love the Stampin' Up! Big Shot Texturz Plates and am always pulling them out to look at them when I'm designing cards.  I created this little tool to help me envision what each plate looks like on card stock.

I used the Scallop Circle Bigz die and Mellon Mambo card stock to create the scallop circles, and then used Crushed Curry card stock and the Clear Circle Bigz die for the circles.  I first cut the Crushed Curry circles out, ran them through with the different texturz plates, and then mounted them on the Mellon Mambo scallop circles.  I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch the hole for the metal ring, and then finished off with Crushed Curry and Mellon Mambo 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Bigz Die Spotlight for Fabulous Friday!

This month the focus for Fabulous Friday is the Big Shot dies.  I have to admit when Stampin’ Up! first announced that we were going to start offering the Big Shot, I wasn’t that interested!  I love stamping and didn’t know then how much it would enhance and add to my stamping and other crafts!

My guest bathroom is decorated in browns and Fleur De Lys pictures and other baroque accents.  I thought it would be neat to add my own personal decorating touch and make my own Decor Element!  I used the Tulipe Bigz Die and our Chocolate Decor Elements Sheets.  I ran the decor sheet through the Big Shot using the Tulipe die and then transferred the cut out die to the mirror.

It was so easy and inexpensive to do and now I want to make more!  The hardest part about the whole thing was taking the pictures so I could show you how it turned out.  The lighting in the bathroom is very soft to begin with, and then the flash on my camera kept washing out the image (who takes pictures of mirrors anyway?!?) and then I didn’t want my image in the mirror, so anyway, I hope you can get a good perspective from my photography!

Here is the big picture…

And here is the close up!  If you want to see it better in person, you’ll just have to come on over!

If you’d like information on creating your own personal decorations using the Big Shot and our decor elements sheets, please call or email me!

Desk Organizer Class 10-7-09

Here is the desk organizer that we made in my class tonight!

Everyone loved it and wanted to make more to give as gifts to co-workers and friends!!

We decorated Binder Clips, Jumbo Paper Clips, a post-it note holder, and the round images in the bottom left compartment are magnets!

I used the Circle Circus #115778 stamp set and the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper #115673.  I’m going to make some more using different Designer Series Paper and I’m also going to think of different things that I can put in the little compartments!

Place an order with me or through my online store and I’ll send you detailed-color instructions how how to make this cute little organizer.

Spooky Expressions Halloween Jar!

I saw these cute jars at WalMart and just knew they would be cute with our Spooky Expressions Halloween Decor Elements!

The Spooky Expressions Decor Elements #117568 are only $4.95 and come with three different "spooky" expressions, so I can make three of these cute jars!

I put the decor element on the jar, added some 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, and stamped a little tag!  I used our Eat, Drink & Be Scary stamp set, our Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, and our Stampin’ Write Markers to make the tag.

Here’s a close up view of the tag.

And filled up with candy ready for me to give to my favorite little monsters!

Place an order through my online store and I’ll send you detailed instructions with color pictures on how to best to apply!

Pacific Stampers Group Meeting 10-2-09

Our group meeting this past Friday night was as fun as ever.  We had great swaps, TWO wonderful projects, and lots of yummy food!

Our swap theme this month was Halloween cards.  Here is Brenda’s darling creation!

And my not-so-darling creation!

Jane’s simple and elegant creation!

Joni Haraga’s sweet treat!

Naoko’s neat "wiper" card!

Stephanie’s neat hidden message card!

And Brenda made this cute little Halloween treat for us!  Oh no, Frankie’s head exploded.  Looks like he ate too many Skittles!

And Joni Hirasa made this cute little Halloween treat for everyone.  Look at that cute little clip that uses the Curly Label punch!  How clever and cute!!

Here is our group project, designed for us by Michelle!  Michelle is so talented and I love her use of colors and sets!  I’ll stop now before I get too (candy) corny, but thanks Michelle for a wonderful and fun project!!

This cute little bonus project was brought to us by Jane.  She had a template to show us on how to get four matchbox dies out of one sheet of 12 x 12.  I thought she was just going to show us the template, but she brought supplies for us all to make this cute little matchbox as well!  When you slide it open, the little bear pops out (he’s on a Window Sheet tab).  We thought it would be cute to put gummy bears or Teddy Grahams in the box!  Thanks Jane!!

And finally, I couldn’t resist sharing with you this cute little basket that Michelle made for me!!  The basket in itself is so cute, but Michelle filled it with yummy little bite size cookies and a Strawberry Shopping Bag!  You open the top of the strawberry, and a little shopping bags unfolds out!  I love it, and my niece did too the next day!  I had to make sure it didn’t go home with her!  Thank you again Michelle for this cute and very thoughtful gift!

I have such a great group of gals!  So talented, fun and giving!  Wouldn’t you like to be a part of our group?!?

World Card Making Day Card Camp!

As some of you might know, the first Saturday of every October has officially been designated World Card Making day!  To celebrate this day, and because card making is one of the things we do best, my group and I held a Card Camp today.  Here are some pictures from the fun event!

Brenda always makes a fabulous welcome sign for our events, as well as favors to thank everyone for coming.  This event was no exception.  Brenda made a beautiful framed welcome picture and matching favors.  She even stamped the tissue paper!

Shelby made our customers’ bags and they matched the favors and welcome sign!  (Great minds think alike!)

Everyone made 12 cards, three of four different designs…

Enjoyed a yummy lunch…

And some were even lucky enough to win door prizes!

Congratulations Jan, Roseanne, Ruth, and Shannon!

Aren’t these gals so cute in their Stampin’ Up! aprons!  Here is Shawna and Bess, two great helpers today!

Here is one of the cards everyone made today.  The card base is Window Sheet, which creates a very fun and unique card!

This beautiful card was actually designed by Shelli Gardner the CEO of Stampin’ Up!!

Circle Circus Birthday card.

Wings of Friendship card.

We had a fun day and I want to thank everyone who came and stamped with us!  Our next camp will be held in November and is our annual Holiday Stamp Camp!  If you would like information on attending this event, or purchasing the project packets, please call or email me!!
