Running for Student Body Council!

My beautiful niece Alexa just started sixth grade and is running for Student Body Council!  She asked me to help her make a poster so we got a poster board, I pulled out the Big Shot (actually I didn’t have to pull it out, it was still sitting on the counter from my last class!), and we began to design her a poster!!

Alexa sketched it out on scratch paper, and we started cranking (literally) out all the pieces!  We used the new Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Alphabet Simple Letters, the Beautiful Butterflies die, the Daisies Flower #2 die and the Little Leaves sizzlit die.  I used the Big Shot texturz plate Perfect Details for the pot so that it would have a basket texture.  I also used a texture plate from the Kit #4 on the stems so they would be textured as well.   I should have taken a close up of it as it turned out really cute.  We also used Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry card stock as well as Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and Rich Razzleberry 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon!  The butterflies also have rhinestone brads in them to give them a little bling!

We used the Contempo Alphabet to stamp Alexa’s name in Rich Razzleberry ink, and then used  1 1/4" and 1 3/8" punches and layered on top of the daisies!

August 12th Stamp-A-Stack

Here are the cards that we made at my August 12th, Stamp-A-Stack!  Enjoy!

Okay, this card uses a lot of Big Shot items.  First the Top Note die (one of my favorites), the Cherry Blossoms embosslit, and the Little Leaves sizzlit die.  I love the Big Shot and can’t image not having it anymore!

This card uses the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.  We colored in the embossed areas with the Stampin’ Pastels (chalks).  It’s really pretty in real life, with the picture you just don’t get the depth and texture of the embossing.

This card uses the Medallion background stamp.  I heard that this is the number one selling stamp in the catalog right now.  I love it!  I used the two new In Colors, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry.

This card uses the Very Thankful stamp set, which is the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set this year.  Two dollars from the sale of this set goes to the RMHC!  I also used the Tall Tales Designer Series Paper.

This card uses the Wings of Friendship Level 2 Hostess stamp set.  I also used new In Colors on this card, Mellon Mambo, Soft Suede, and Bermuda Bay.

If you would like information on attending one of my future Stamp-A-Stacks, or would like to purchase supplies to make your own, call or email me!

Stampin’ Up! Convention 2009!

I returned recently from the annual Stampin’ Up! Convention and had an absolutely fabulous time!  In addition, to the great things that I learned and the upcoming new products that Stampin’ Up! has in store for us, I had a wonderful time with my downline and my friend from other groups around the country!  Here are some pictures!

The new tag line for Stampin’ Up! is Create.Inspire.Share.  From left to right, Steph, Jane, me, Naoko, Lorinne, Sonya (standing), Jenn (kneeling), Nancy and Shelby!

Here we are again on awards night.  Naoko and Jane earned awards in the Demonstrator of the Year category.  Stampin’ Up! recognizes and awards the top 100 demonstrators in this category.  Naoko came in at number 79 and Jane came in at number 84!  Jane also earned the Rising Star award and came in at number 12!  Congratulations to them both!

As part of the award for earning a DOY spot, Naoko and Jane are going to Founder’s Circle and also got these darling bags!

Here are some of the group with Beary the Build a Bear Mascot.  More about Build a Bear to come in a future post!

We had shirts made for our group that said p.s. i love you.  Our group is the Pacific Stampers.  Here are Sonya, Lorinne and Jenn.

On Friday, Shelli demonstrated a new Simply Adorned product line that we have coming out soon (more about that too in a future post!).  She made some charms and then gave them away (like door prizes)!  Steph (our disengaged group member) won one and gave it to her upline Naoko!  What a treasure, Steph and the charm!!

Here I am with two of my favorite friends on awards night!  Debbie and Dawn are from the east coast, and I would never have met them if not for Stampin’ Up!!

Dawn has a fabulous downline!  Here are just two of them that I absolutely loved!  Kelly and Jody!

From left to right, Nancy, Karla, Dawn, me, Debbie, Jenn and Rachel!

Here we are at Takanashi enoying a fabulous Japanese meal in downtown Salt Lake City!

It was a wonderful time and fun was had by all!  If you would like information on attending a future Convention, let me know!

Birthday Celebrations!

Don’t tell anyone, but I celebrated the big 5 0 birthday last month!  My sister and her husband were living the high life at the Montage in Southern California, and left me with the three kids.  (I’d rather be with the kids than at the Montage!)

Naoko invited the kids and me over for a quiet birthday dinner, but when I got there, it was really a surprise birthday party!  I had no idea and I was truly surprised and happy to see my friends there to help me celebrate my birthday!  We had yummy food and drinks, wonderful presents, and even a fun stamping project!

Here are some pictures from the celebration!!

Naoko made yummy cupcakes and made cute little cupcake holders using the Perfect Setting Big Shot die!

Amara, my friend Michelle’s daughter decided the cupcake holders also worked as a little crown!  Isn’t she the cutest!

Okay, I guess Amara wasn’t the only princess there that night!  Shelby was liking it too!

Steph liked her cupcake too!

Little Jacie has a sweet tooth and loved her cupcake too!

We had yummy food and drinks (Naoko’s husband Jeff was our bartender).  Here are Sonya, me and Kehau!  Kehua is multi-tasking as you can see, on the phone, eating, and posing for a picture!

After our yummy dinner was present opening time!!  Here are the gifts from my wonderful nieces and nephew.  A pair earrings from Alexa, a digital picture keychain from Craig, and a black and white polka dot shirt from Jacie!  They each made me cards too.

On the left is my gift from Michelle.  She knows that I love black, white and red, and got me a great black and white bag filled with all kinds of goodies!  A desk organizer set with red rose pens, a set of black, white, and red cards that she made, two martini glasses with monogram J charms that she made, Cosmo drink mix, and a cute Hello Kitty Big Shot die!  Thanks again Michelle!

Bess made the beautiful frame on the right for me!  I need to find a good picture to put in it and display in my stamping room!  Thanks again Bess!!

On the left is a beautiful card made for me by Lorinne, and a gift card for WalMart!  Thanks again Lorinne, I can always use goodies from WalMart!

In the middle is a beautiful bowl from Shelby!  I love tropical themed serving dishes and this one will get good use!  Thanks again Shelby!

On the left is a darling card made for me by Sonya and a Chicos gift card.  Sonya knows that I love Chicos and in fact I’ve already spent the gift card on a new Convention top!  Thanks again Sonya!

Naoko surprised me with a UPS Ken and Stampin’ Up! Barbie!  She knows that I collect Barbies, and these are two very special and very unique ones that will be added to my collection!!  I’m sure to be the envy of many Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!

Here’s a close up of them.  Aren’t they so cute!! I love them!

After presents, Shelby brought a project for us all to do.  Altered clip boards.  I got to make my first one and loved it!  Thank you Shelby for bringing the project and for teaching me how to do the clip boards!  Too fun!

My niece Alexa got to make a clip board too.  She did a great job and ended up giving the clip board to her mom!

Bess and Lorinne working on their clip boards!

Sonya, Naoko and me with our clip board creations!

I had such a great time and  thank everyone for making this such a fun birthday celebration for me!
